Wrapped in the Union Jack

- Check it out: here is me in my brand new Union Jack t-shirt. I have wanted one of these for a long time, anglophile that I am. I knew exactly what I wanted; I was inspired by Doctor Who's Rose. (By the way, if anyone knows the significance of the Doctor's real name and why he would ever tell it to anyone, please let me know, I 'm dying here.) I could only find it in England, so I ordered it from there, which makes it that much better. Authentic, you know? My prized possession. And dig the toilet in the background.
- Anna-Lisa and crew were here this weekend. And Travis Christensen came over for an evening too. Wowee, I really should have taken a picture of A-L, Jerry, Travis, and me. Or rather had someone else do it, which would be more effective. Good times around the board. My favorite was having Courtney and Darcy in my Sunbeam class. And Courtney reading a book for the first time. To me! Hop on Pop, don't you know. Also Ainsley cracks me up.
- Quotation of the day: "I am not like Duane Barry." --Jerry H., randomly. Any X-File reference is a turn-on for me.
- Quotation of the day number two: from David Duchovny, when asked what he discovered about wearing high heels in his roles as a transvestite. "That I was uncomfortable. I felt sorry for women after that. Women's fashion is a subtle form of bondage. It's men's way of binding them. We put them in these tight, high-heeled shoes, we make them wear these tight clothes and we say they look sexy. But they're actually tied up."
- Quotation of the day number three: "...number two" --Kimberly H.
- I bought the ENTIRE X-Files box set. Not even just part of it. The whole dad-blasted thing. It is full of goodies that I have not yet even begun to explore. Hidden wonders. Let me tell you, this purchase was extremely well-rationalized. I'm on top of the world looking down on Jennifer M. and grinning at her as smugly as can be.

Kim,
love the blog! I had a great time seeing you guys the other night. I may have to have you scan a few pic for me.
About the shirt, I think you are probably just channeling your inner Joe Elliot!!! Long live Def Leppard! =)
Travis
About the shirt: ya, whatever.
Shall I scan and post some of those 20-year-old pictures that have you in them? That could be entertaining. BTW, I got the last piece of the cake you brought, and that was no easy thing to do.
I'm glad to hear it. It was a pretty good cake.
That would be awesome if you could get me some copies, but also include some of the gang as well.
You finally mention me in your blog and it's only to grin smugly at me? I might point out that you are always looking down at me, my lofty friend, so I doubt it means anything special. The least you could do is to bring your new toy to my house for a visit. And wear that shirt when you come.
