Mad Men

Betty, Joan, Peggy

Don
- I discovered Mad Men a few months ago. AMC shows lots of reruns, so in that time I have been able to catch up on the entire second season. I was happy to see that it won the Emmy for best drama series. Emphasis on DRAMA. It has its light moments, but even the light moments strike the viewer as serious and sometimes disturbing. It is not a show for the faint of heart, as it is a heavy social commentary.
- I've added another character to my fave characters list: Peggy Olson. Fascinating. The actress who plays her, Elisabeth Moss, is so talented. (And of course Joan is just so fun to look at. And Don is too, come to think of it.) I want to rent the first season and see all the particulars about Peggy's mental illness and pregnancy, the relationship between Don and Peggy, and how exactly Peggy came to get her present job. It was so delightful to watch her succeed a little bit in the most recent two episodes.
- The discussion on the message boards is so deep and intelligent. It can't be otherwise, cuz if you ain't smrat, you ain't gonna be watchin' Mad Men. That's why ise watchin'. Cuz I'm smrat.
- Mad Men also won the Emmy for best opening sequence or whatever you want to call it. I never get tired of watching it. Here it is.
