Eternal Hold

I write this as I am on Eternal Hold with Geek Squad.  Let's see if I can do this entire post before someone gets on to help me.

Here are 5 things about the inauguration:
  1. Aubrey went.  Here is a video she took as Pres. Obama was shakily taking the oath.
  2. The benediction was funny at first, then later struck me as condescending to the white man.
  3. The people at the Washington Memorial all had a clear view of the bow on Aretha Franklin's hat.
  4. I texted Aubrey that I was amazed she was seeing all those past presidents at once.  She responded that her friend even saw President Van Buren.
  5. I appreciated that Pres. Obama mentioned sticking to the founding fathers' principles on which they based this country.  I also like that he did some emphasizing on personal responsibility.
Quotation of the day: "Finally, someone who will take my advice." --my friend Jennifer's 9-year-old son, upon finding out he was going to be a big brother.

Phrase of the day: constant vigilance

Picture of the day:  I love Bones

Substances of the day: absinthe and tequila

Geek Squad hung up on me after half an hour on hold.  I called back, spent another half hour on hold, then got disconnected again.  Now I am on hold with the third person. I need a shot of tequila.

What a great opportunity for A. The video would not play though. You are too funny. Gotta love being on hold. I hear ya with the tequila thing. I just found out I may have lost my health insurance.

There, I think I fixed it. I can't really tell because my operating system is corrupted (gotta wipe it out and reload it), and I can't load Flash Player. So I posted it blindly. Let me know if it works now.

Why would you lose your health insurance?

That benediction...hummm and you didn't even mention the awful rhyming at the end. How cool that Aubrey got to go and watch.

Yes I got to see it now. Thanks for fixing. Very very cool.

Did your geek squad people speak English? That is what also frustrates me....after being on hold for eternity, you can't even understand what they are saying. I was also not thrilled with the benediction, but was not thrilled with the choice of poet either. I was hoping for more substance and in a cadence more like Jane Austen instead of short and choppy.

They did speak English. Maybe a little too well, because they had a clear understanding of what I needed, and hung up on me because of it. I did finally get a guy to send me a refund.

Have you noticed the producers of Bones? Be sure to watch the new opening credits.
