Today at work this bigwig (who didn't know me from Adam) came onto our floor looking for Steve, who sits around the corner from me. When he discovered that Steve was not in his office, he looked around and found me sitting in my office. He said to me, "Do you keep Steve's appointment schedule?"Well, I half chuckled and said, "No." What I SHOULD have said was, "No, but would you like me to make you a cup of coffee?" If he didn't bat an eye and took me up on the offer, I would hand him the coffee and say, "By the way, I am Steve's boss. And you owe me $4.00 for the coffee."
