They are delicious. I bet they WERE the forbidden fruit. When they are perfectly ripe they are softer than an apple but firmer than a pear. It gets more and more little black freckles through the inside of it as it ripens. It is very sweet, and the skin is tough and thick compared to an apple. Costco sells them perfectly ripe.
I really have nothing to say about the pictured fruit, however, as I read it, a sudden and profound thought occurred. Bro. Hurst would have loved your blog. He probably would have had one like it and would have enjoyed a bit of competition. MOM

Interesting.
I thought it was so interesting that I ate it after I took its picture.
I have never had one...what do they taste like?
Is it just me, or does this kind of look like what you'd imagine the forbidden fruit would have looked like?
