pain practice

  • So I started training for a 5K yesterday. It will be on Thanksgiving Day. I hope to run it at a decent speed (for me). I think that training is really only pain practice. "OK, today you can take a little more pain than you did yesterday, I know you can! Now go go go!" And off I go. What is wrong with me?

  • I am thinking of making a playlist to listen to when I run the 5K. So far I have "Spice Up Your Life" by the Spice Girls, "Every time We Touch" by Cascada, and "Marathon" by Rush. Pretty eclectic. I am imagining the Spice Girls jamming with Rush. Wow, what a visual. Anyway, I am available to audition any other playlist candidates that wish to apply.

What is wrong with you? As if I didn't already know.

I will submit two for your playlist consideration: Bleeding the Orchid and Let's Go! both by Smashing Pumpkins. Hey, you said eclectic.

Blister in the Sun- Violent Fems, Atomic-Blonde, Back on the Chain Gang-Pretenders, Ball and Chain-Social Distortion, Blue Monday-New Order, Seven Nation Army-White Stripes

And there's always that Rocky theme song....then you too could punch your fists in the air---although you should probably pass on the barking like a dog.

Idioteque - Radiohead
Run - Snow Patrol (for cooling down)
